It’s a luxury guided hiking adventure at the foot of Mont Ventoux, set in the perched medieval village of Crillon le Brave. With an expert guide at your side, you’ll set off on two hikes in and around Mont Ventoux. The first – the day of your arrival – will better acquaint you with the region, and will explore the foothills of the mountain: its picturesque cherry orchards, truffle oak plantations, and the beginnings of its wild slopes. With many possible options, the second hike will explore the heart of the mountain: remote shepherds’ huts built of dry stone, larch and beech forests, Alpine pastures, hidden springs, and vegetation ranging from Mediterranean herbs to Arctic flowers. Several options can lead you to the very summit, the roof of Provence, for one of the planet’s greatest panoramas.
And after a satisfying day’s hike, return to the comfort of your hotel, nestled in the village of Crillon, where you can admire our favorite mountain up close, glass of wine in hand.
Day 1: Arrival in Crillon & guided hike At the foot of Mont Ventoux

Check in at the luxurious 5* Crillon le Brave and meet your guide for a half-day hike, set just a few minutes’ drive from your hotel (your guide will drive you there). You’ll be exploring the foothills of Mont Ventoux, where the hamlets, cherry orchards and vines give way to its wild slopes, carpeted with aromatic herbs, and oak and cedar forests. Depending on your interests and physical fitness, we can climb farther into the mountain, on paths framed with tight canyon walls, and reach remote huts. You’ll enjoy far-reaching views of the Rhône Valley.
Day 2: Full day hike in Mont Ventoux
Distance: from 10km to 20km
Climbing: from +/-250m to +/-1600m
Though Ventoux is most famous for its roads, which have welcomed the Tour de France on many occasions, its endless system of paths – carved into its slopes – make for stunning hikes. Your guide knows the mountain inside-out, and will help you choose the perfect option: whether through the Mediterranean garrigue at its base, or all the way up to the Alpine flowers that carpet the famed moonscape at the summit. The paths on the north face are remote, with the Alps as a backdrop. The trails pass through impressive rockslide formations, where it’s likely to observe mountain goats. From the summit, on a clear day, the whole chain of the Alps is visible to the North-east; and you only need to turn your gaze around to admire the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 3: Au revoir la Provence
